Danny Williams, Mayor

Danny Williams was elected the 11th Mayor of Dickson County in August 2026, bringing with him decades of business, leadership, and public service experience, along with a deep commitment to the county he calls home. An eighth-generation Dickson Countian, Danny's roots in this community run as deep as his vision for its future.

Danny's record of public service spans more than a decade. He served as Mayor of White Bluff for two terms and represented the county for ten years as a Dickson County Commissioner, giving him a rare, well-rounded understanding of local government at every level. He also served on the White Bluff Planning Commission, where he gained firsthand experience with many of the opportunities and challenges facing a growing city — experience that strengthened his belief that growth should be carefully planned, infrastructure should keep pace with development, and the rural character and quality of life that make Dickson County special should be protected.

Outside of public office, Danny has spent 25 years as co-owner of Underground Pipe and Construction alongside his brother, giving him hands-on experience with the kind of infrastructure work that keeps a growing county running — and a practical, business-minded approach to financial management and long-term planning.

Throughout his career, Danny has built his approach to leadership around hard work, common sense, accountability, and treating people with respect. As County Mayor, he is focused on providing efficient and responsive county government, maintaining responsible fiscal management, supporting strong schools and workforce opportunities, improving infrastructure, and working cooperatively with the County Commission, municipalities, community organizations, and citizens throughout Dickson County.

Danny believes public service begins with listening. He is committed to keeping county government accessible to the people it serves and bringing citizens, elected officials, and community leaders together to find practical solutions to the challenges facing Dickson County.  Above all, Danny considers it an honor to serve the people of Dickson County and is committed to helping ensure that the county remains a great place to live, work, raise a family, and call home for generations to come.

Danny and his wife, Marcee, are proud of their blended family which includes three adult children and five grandchildren.  Family is an important part of their lives, and they cherish the time they spend together.  Their family keeps them grounded and serves as a constant reminder of the importance of making Dickson County a strong community for generations to come.

Duties of the Mayor

The Mayor is the chief executive officer of the county. He manages the day to day operation of his office and county government that is not specifically designated to the other elected officials. Mayor Rial was elected by the County Commission to serve as Chairman.  The Mayor serves as a nonvoting member of each committee of the county commission and of each board, commission or authority of the county government.  The Mayor appoints members of county boards and commissions and county department heads. Appointees shall be subject to confirmation by the county legislative body. 

The most important duty of Mayor is to work with the citizens and other elected officials to build a positive environment in Dickson County to accomplish the goals of its people.
