Jenny Heath Martin was elected as Dickson County Assessor of Property in August 2016. Prior to being elected, Jenny was employed as the Senior Field Evaluator for the previous Assessor Gail Davis Wren.

The duties of the Assessor of Property are to discover, list, classify and value all taxable property in the jurisdiction of Dickson County, Tennessee for Ad Valorem (according to value) tax purposes. The Assessor is responsible to the property owners and taxpayers of Dickson County to ensure that all property subject to taxation is valued in accordance with state laws, that no property escapes the assessment process or is under assessed, and that no property owner receives unauthorized preferential treatment. Founded in 1803, Dickson County was named for William Dickson, a Nashville physician and legislator who reportedly was a friend of President Andrew Jackson. Dickson County's rich history includes industry in the iron furnaces of Cumberland Furnace.
