Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe

Sheriff Bledsoe began his career in law enforcement in 1986.  He soon graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy class 516 the same year.  He was elected to his first four year term in August 2010, and he was re-elected to second four year term in August of 2014.

Sheriff Bledsoe has over 30 years of service in the law enforcement profession.  He has served in numerous positions to include: deputy sheriff, patrolman, field training officer, corporal, D.A.R.E. instructor, detective, narcotics detective, special deputy U.S. Marshal, state agent, and sheriff.

Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe

Sheriff Bledsoe has received extensive training over a 30 year law enforcement career including classes through the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, St. Petersburg Community College, U.S. Department of Justice, National Sheriffs’ Association, Tennessee Sheriffs’ Association, and National Sheriffs’ Institute. He graduated from the National Sheriffs’ Institute 105th session in 2014, and is the only sheriff in the history of Dickson County to attend the training. He has received the Leadership Trilogy Award from the Federal Bureau of Investigation Law Enforcement Executive Development Association for training in Supervisor Leadership, Command Institute, and Executive Leadership. He was chosen to represent Tennessee in a Diversion Opioid Training Class including all 50 states conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration in Quantico, VA. in 2016.

Sheriff Bledsoe believes in serving the citizens of Dickson County in other areas relating to the office of sheriff. He serves as an executive board member for the Drug Free Dickson Coalition, a board of director’s member for the 23rd District Drug Task Force, Tennessee Sheriffs’ Association Training Committee Vice-Chair, a member of the Tennessee Sheriff’s Association Scholarship Committee, and Chairman of the Tennessee Sheriff’s Association Mental Health Transport Committee. He also serves as a board of director’s member for the Humane Society of Dickson County, an executive board member of the Tennessee Dangerous Drugs Task Force, represents the Tennessee Sheriffs’ Association on a state level serving as a member of the board for Mental Health Procedures, and represents the Tennessee Sheriffs’ Association on the Buprenorphine Treatment Guidelines Committee. >Email Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe
